VOLTABenjamin Volta is an artist who works with teachers and community leaders to develop creative methods that link art to specific areas of learning. Together, they initiate students to recognize the importance of their own ideas, and then express a mergence of difference within a collective focus. His studio initiatives combine academic learning and life skill development with an audacious aspiration to create great art within an unexpected context. Since 2005 he has worked with over 30 public schools on art integration and public art projects. He has worked on numerous collaborations with the museum education departments at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts to create artworks with youth within the museum galleries and public spaces. He holds a certificate in sculpture from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in and a BFA from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been a member of the historic art collective Tim Rollins and K.O.S. for over ten years.
